Honda BeAT, Ubah Ruang Bakar

Ruang bakar Honda BeAT aslinya punya bentuk dome atau seperti kubah. Bahasa kerennya hemi spherical atau hanya membulat. Secara teori, tidak menguntungkan. Karena kompresi dan debit gas bakar jadi rendah.

Untuk itu harus diperbaiki. “Paling bagus menggunakan bentuk ruang bakar bathtub. Seperti head BeAT yang dimodif oleh BRT,” jelas Marisan Kocek, mekanik yang menangani pacuan Aji Marongpong.

Aji Marongpong juara 1 kelas 130 cc Open di pentas MOTOR Plus Indonesian Super Matic Race malam minggu lalu di Bandung.

Menggunakan head yang juga sudah dicryo itu, menurut Kocek menguntungkan. Dengan ruang bakar bathtub mampu menciptakan debit gas bakar jadi lebih tinggi. Itu kalau berdasarkan pengukuran menggunakan flowbench.

Paling penting lagi, Kocek bisa membuat kompresi tinggi tanpa membuat jenong piston. Apalagi piston yang digunakan dari paket bore up Kawahara. Sehernya cukup ringan. Menguntungkan untuk motor balap. “Kepala piston bisa dibuat flat walau rasio kompresi dipatok 13,2 : 1,” jelas Kocek.

Jadi kelebihan bathtub ada tiga. Flow besar, piston ringan dan kompresi tinggi.Walau pada QTT hanya berhasil menduduki peringkat 6 dengan catatan waktu 45,323 detik. Namun saat race Aji langsung menyodok ke depan. Baik di race 1 maupun 2.

Tinggal atur lubang porting dan noken as. Lubang isap oleh Kocek dibuat serba lurus. Maksudnya agar laju gas bakar jadi lebih singkat. "Untuk kem, modifikasi dari Kawahara K2 dipapas 3 mm," kata Mariasan Kocex selaku mekanik dari tim Kawahara. Durasinya berkisar 270-an.

Per klep juga dibuat tidak terlalu keras. Karena motor matik punya rpm tidak terlalu tinggi. “Cukup menggunakan pegas klep milik Suzuki Smash. Per ini cukup pendek namun punya lift yang tinggi,” ucap Kocek yang juga pembalap itu.

Oh ya, untuk klep menggunakan punya Sonic namun mereknya Kawahara dengan ukuran 27/23. Cek cek cek semua merek sendiri.

Cukup Setel Angin

Seri MPISMR di Bandung ini digelar dalam dua waktu. Artinya race 1 berlangsung siang hari sedangkan race 2 malam hari. Tentu saja perbedaan ini perlu penyesuaian beberapa hal dari segi setingan karburator.  

Untuk motor pacuan Aji Marompong ini sepertinya tidak terlalu banyak yang diutak-atik memasuki race 2 di malam hari. "Untuk spuyer, tidak dilakukan pergantian. Hanya anginnya saja yang kita seting ulang," cerita Kocex yang bilang kalau balap malam dibuat lebih kering.
